Abbey Emmerson

Head of Design & Principal Director

Abbey founded Trend Designs in 2002 and has since grown the company into the highly respected Interior Design practice that it is today.

Abbey studied at Winchester School of Art where she went on to gain a BA honours degree in Art & design and from here began her career working for various interior design companies in and around the UK.

Abbey has worked on a multitude of high end residential interiors for developers and private clients based in the UK and internationally, as well as the design and specifications for luxurious palaces and hotels in the Far East.

Abbey’s creativity, motivation, dedication and hard work is what she prides her success on and enjoys the freedom that having her own design practice gives her, not only because she gets to meet new clients but enjoys the variety of projects she has had the pleasure of working on.

Abbey is also a highly regarded member of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID), for which she also assists in the assessment interviews for new members & companies wishing to become part of the institute.  Being a member  of the BIID involves attending regular professional seminars to keep up with the design industry as well as gaining inspiration for future projects and networking with other design professionals.

Hayley Sutherland

Head of Sales & Marketing

Hayley joined Trend Designs in 2012,  and with her brings a wealth of knowledge and devotion to the company.

Hayley’s background  has been primarily within the Hospitality and Leisure sector, accumulating some 21 years experience negotiating large contracts for UK and overseas business and domestic clients.

Hayley is devoted and dedicated to every project and challenge that she undertakes and her friendly & professional attitude  has most certainly been the secret of her highly successful and long career.

Hayley heads up the procurement team within Trend Designs and is also involved in the sourcing and buying of new products for Trend Designs at Home, our online Interiors Store.

Marcus Crees

Senior Interior Designer & Company Director

Marcus joined Trend Designs in the early part of 2015 where he has brought a multitude of experience and skills to the company and has proven to be a valuable member of the team with meticulous attention to detail.

After graduating from the Surrey Institute of Art & Design in 1997 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Interior Design, Marcus went on to work for numerous Interior Design & Architectural practices, covering a variety of disciplines within interior design.

Marcus has had the opportunity to work on many large luxury high end residential developments in and around central London, including 190 Strand, 375 Kensington High Street, St George Wharf Tower as well as private residential projects within exclusive Surrey Estates, such as St. Georges Hill, The Wentworth & Crown Estates.

Moving away from residential interior design Marcus spent many years of his career in the commercial office & hospitality sectors, working on interior fit out projects for IPC Media, The London Fire Brigade Headquarters, Accenture, American Express as well as large hotel chains. Through this time of his career he has gained a good understanding for designing restaurant and bar areas, along with leisure facilities including spas and gymnasiums within these corporate environments.

Marcus would see himself as conscientious, reliable and committed innovative designer, with industry experience across a broad range of design sectors.
